Cancer and Tobacco Initiatives Homepage!
The Montgomery County Cancer and Tobacco Use Prevention Programs were established in 2000 primarily to create public health programs that address cancer and tobacco-related disparities in outreach education, screening, treatment and access to care. The target populations include low-income, minority and vulnerable populations impacted by tobacco use, cancer and tobacco-related diseases. Community health coalitions comprised of community members, community-based organizations, healthcare providers and advocates serves in an advisory role and provide input in the development of annual comprehensive cancer and tobacco control plans for the County.
The mission of the programs is to eliminate cancer and tobacco-related health disparities and increase access to outreach education, screening and treatment services for County residents.
